Community Medic Training

11:00 AM-4:00 PM

April 12, 2026

Galactic Oasis, Lakewood, Ohio

People training in first aid outdoors.

Being prepared for disasters, whether political or environmental, is vital for communities. Having a team of community medics helps bring people together and support each other whether it's a short term event or the long disaster that seems to be looming ahead. This introductory training will start the process of becoming a community street medic.

Community Medic Training Online Materials

Congratulations on completing Becoming a Community Street Medic, Part 1 of the Community Medic Training. That initial 4-hour training covered the first five topics. Please review before attending Part 2. After April 12, you will have access to materials related to Part 2. Part 3 is scheduled for May 23. If you miss Part 1 or Part 2, feel free to join another group, but that means you need to subscribe to my mailing list below to ensure you get the updates. Many of you didn't subscribe when you signed up for the class and subscriptions aren't required to attend a class.

Becoming a Community Medic

This training is being offered on a sliding-scale basis. That means that the trainer and the host are incurring costs to make this happen but we don't want to exclude anyone based on income. That said we will take donations onsite via cash or venmo, but will not turn anyone away. The suggested donation for Part 2, a five-hour section of the full street medic training, is $10-50. Please donate extra if you are able.
