Building a Forest Healing Center

We are raising funds to create a space for forest healing with the Trillium Center.

Come to the woods, for here is rest. There is no repose like that of the green deep woods. Sleep in forgetfulness of all ill.

~ John Muir

Support healing.

Time in nature heals. Bringing people into the forest creates a sense of timelessness that and the ability to breathe clearly. The forest is a place to seek clarity, work through emotional hardships and recover from trauma and wounds. We are raising funds to build a forest healing center.

Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life.

~ Rachel Carson

Bridging the urban-rural divide has been a large part of my work, which means offering walks and workshops in metro areas and conferences throughout the midwest.

What the people I meet really want is to get out of the city.

They want to walk in the woods, breathe forest air. Wander through fields of wildflowers. See the gardens and create their own foraged meals and medicine. And maybe even practice a little herbal first aid along the way.

People develop a deep connection to the Earth when they learn how to identify and prepare wild edible plants. The connection they feel to themselves and their community becomes more profound when they know how to use wild plants for healing.

Forests are sacred. Healing is sacred.

I’ll tell you what hermits realize. If you go off into a far, far forest and get very quiet, you’ll come to understand that you’re connected with everything.
~ Alan Watts

As a child I learned to find Creator in the forest. And healing begins with walking in the forest or lying down to rest in the green light of forest leaves.
