  1. Try searching for information on the herb dandelion. Take a screenshot of the search terms you used and the first 3 or 4 websites that come up... let's discuss in the comments!

  2. Start a resources list of books, websites, writers, etc. Share favorites in the comments.

  3. Start a nature journal. Keep track of plants you find, seasonal changes, birds, etc. Note taking and label making are important in foraging and herbalism.

  4. Start noticing tree twigs. Take photos, make observations. Our first botany lesson will be on identifying winter trees - how to identify trees without leaves. Share your observations and photos in the comments.

  5. Check out your books for this class. Notice how they are organized, look at the appendices and index. Read the topics in the books that correspond to topics in this course. These books will deepen your knowledge on the topics of this course.
